The Korean Medical Association held an extraordinary general meeting of the Korean Medical Association at 2 p.m. today in the auditorium on the basement floor of the Korean Medical Association Hall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
The delegates held an anonymous vote on the no-confidence motion after hearing Chairman Lim's personal remarks at the general meeting.
Out of 224, 170 voted in favor, 50 against and four abstentions.
Currently, 224 out of 248 delegates on the list participated in the vote, meeting the requirements for impeachment.
As a result, Chairman Lim remains the second disgraced case to be impeached by a delegate after former Chairman Roh Hwan-kyu in April 2014.
Earlier, 103 delegates of the Medical Association damaged the reputation of the Medical Association by President Lim's multiple verbal and misleading remarks,
I proposed an impeachment motion, saying it violated the rights and interests of members by failing to prevent the enactment of the nursing law.
Chairman Lim just said last month that he was talking like a schizophrenic patient targeting Presidential Chief of Social Affairs Jang Sang-yoon.
In the end, Chairman Lim apologized after receiving strong criticism.
In addition, he suffered from the release of a recording of 100 million won in 50,000 won bills in exchange for dropping a complaint against an executive of the Seoul Metropolitan Council who slandered him.
In the meantime, the Medical Association, the only legal organization, has been criticized for failing to properly gather the voices of medical students and medical doctors.
Attention is focusing on whether today will provide internal power in the medical community to solve the tangled legislative conflict.
