Lim Hyun-taek, chairman of the Korean Medical Association, who caused controversy over his rude talk several times, was impeached about six months after taking office.

With Chairman Lim stepping down, the medical association will operate as an emergency committee system for the time being.

The Korean Medical Association held an extraordinary general meeting attended by representatives from all over the country.

This is to determine the future of Chairman Lim Hyun-taek, who caused a stir by demanding 100 million won in exchange for repeated rude talk and accusations against members of the association who slandered him.

Chairman Lim, who made personal remarks ahead of the impeachment vote, repeatedly apologized and appealed for a last chance.

However, it was not enough to reverse the public sentiment that turned around.

Of the 224 delegates, 170 voted for the impeachment, 75.8% voted for it, while only 50 voted against it.

Chairman Lim, who stepped down after six months, left the general assembly hall with his mouth firmly closed due to a flurry of reporters' questions.

{Representatives who impeached Lim also voted to form an emergency committee to fill the leadership vacuum.

Accordingly, the Korean Medical Association will switch to an emergency committee system for the time being until a new chairman is elected to deal with the chaotic atmosphere.

As Chairman Lim Hyun-taek was impeached for the second time after former Chairman Roh Hwan-kyu in April 2014, attention is being paid to how it will affect the situation of legislative conflict without exit.
