The National Symphony Orchestra said Simone Edelman, who serves as the Pogland Philharmonic conductor, won the second KNSO International Conducting Competition.
The winner will be given 50 million won in prize money and the opportunity to play on various stages, including regular performances of the National Symphony.
Yoon Hang-yeol, the first Korean winner of the "Karayan Young Conductor Award," finished second in the first competition in 2021, but none of the Korean players made the final in this competition.
224 people from 44 countries around the world applied for the competition, with 11 advancing to the finals, and three people made the final stage this evening after the second round.
