The Democratic Party of Korea has decided to submit an amendment to reduce the scope of the investigation and allow a third party to recommend an independent counsel in connection with the Kim Gun-hee Special Prosecutor Act, which will be put up at the National Assembly plenary session on the 14th.

Spokesperson Han Min-soo met with reporters after the Supreme Council and said that the scope of the special prosecutor's investigation will be drastically reduced to be limited to the alleged manipulation of Deutsche Motors' stock price and the suspicion of Kim's nomination and election intervention triggered by Myung Tae-kyun.

In addition, he explained that the amendment will include a third-party recommendation method, unlike the existing method in which the Democratic Party and non-conservative groups recommended candidates for the special prosecution one by one.

A spokesman said the revision was intended to support the people's demand for the Special Prosecutor's Law for Kim, and asked if the people's power and the president's office could be opposed to this.
