Recently, a series of online gambling offenders for teenagers have been arrested, and the shocking fact that nearly half of all gamblers are teenagers has been revealed.

The National Police Agency arrested more than 9,900 people by conducting a special cyber gambling crackdown for about a year until last month.

However, nearly half of them, or 4,700 teenagers, reached the total.

The average amount of money spent on gambling per person was 780,000 won.

A 16-year-old male student was found to have bet as much as 190 million won in the stakes.

How did teenagers end up gambling like this?

When I asked the arrested students how they got their hands on online gambling, the most common answer was "curious."

The next thing to pay attention to is the introduction of friends.

Beyond just gambling together,
It's because there were cases where they attracted acquaintances as if they were selling
.

It's a so-called 'distributor'.

In fact, members of illegal gambling sites worth 500 billion won were arrested earlier this year, of which 12 were youth distributors.

Recently, middle and high school students worked together to create and operate gambling servers themselves, and were caught by the police.

Teenagers are acting as operators beyond just participants.

Although there will be the impact of intensive crackdowns, the number of youth provocations has increased by about 2,700% from a year ago.

Teenagers who have to dream about the future to their heart's content, it seems that the whole society needs to pay attention so that they don't fall into a dark gambling quagmire.
