By creating an artificial environment in the building, a "vertical farm" that grows various agricultural products can be built in industrial complexes across the country.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that it will revise the Enforcement Decree of the Smart Agricultural Act and the Industrial Cluster Act to allow vertical farms to move into 1,315 industrial complexes nationwide from tomorrow (12th).

Vertical farms are systems that can artificially control the growth environment within artificial structures such as buildings to produce crops uniformly and in a planned manner regardless of weather or seasonal changes.

Previously, industrial complexes were operated mainly in the manufacturing and knowledge industries, making it impossible to enter vertical farms, which are agricultural facilities.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said it will systematically supply infrastructure facilities and strengthen support for efficient land use plans, such as rational placement of land, so that it can solidify the foundation for revitalizing vertical farms.
