Kakao, which was fined 15.1 billion won by the Personal Information Protection Committee for leaking 65,000 personal information, filed an administrative lawsuit.

Kakao filed a lawsuit against the Personal Information Commission's imposition of fines and corrective orders on the 1st.

Earlier, Kakao had warned of an administrative lawsuit, claiming that the membership serial number and temporary ID were simply strings composed of numbers and did not contain any personal information by themselves.

In March last year, the Personal Information Commission investigated whether the personal information of KakaoTalk open chat users was illegally traded and fined 15.1 billion won for violating safety measures.

In addition, Kakao ordered users to notify them of the leakage of personal information, but Kakao did not fulfill it.
