The Changwon District Prosecutors' Office said today (11th) that it has filed a request for an arrest warrant for former lawmaker Kim Young-sun and Myung Tae-kyun on charges of violating the Political Fund Act.
The two men are accused of making money deals in exchange for nominations in connection with the 2022 parliamentary by-election.
is suspected of receiving 90 million won in salary from former lawmaker Kim after the 2022 by-election.
In response, former lawmaker Kim and Myung said they paid back the money they lent in the prosecution's investigation.
Along with the two, the prosecution also requested arrest warrants for two people who were preliminary candidates for the Yeongnam region's local government head and metropolitan city council in the 8th local election.
A warrant hearing will be held at the Changwon District Court on the 14th to determine whether they will be arrested or not.
