A police officer in Yongsan who stole 300 million won in confiscated property was arrested and charged.

The Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office today (11th) handed over Sergeant Kim, a former member of the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul, to trial on charges of siphoning off criminal confiscation.

Sergeant Kim is accused of stealing about 300 million won in cash, which is the confiscation of four voice phishing crimes, over two years.

Sergeant Kim was found to have committed the crime to pay off card payments and loans, and the prosecution investigation found that Sergeant Kim forged official documents to hide the crime and was additionally charged.

Earlier, the police immediately arrested Sergeant Kim on the 16th of last month and removed his position.
