President Zelensky said in a post on Telegram on the 11th local time.
Citing U.S. and Ukrainian sources, CNN reported the previous day that Russia had called up about 50,000 troops, including North Korean troops, to retake the Kursk region on the mainland, which is partially controlled by Ukrainian forces.
The New York Times also reported that about 50,000 Russian and North Korean soldiers will participate in the attack on the same day.
President Zelensky also said fierce fighting is also taking place in eastern Ukraine's Pokrovsk and Kurakhobe, adding that Ukrainian forces will significantly strengthen their position here.
Earlier, President Zelensky and the U.S. government said more than 10,000 North Korean soldiers had been moved to Kursk and that they may soon be involved in the fighting.
