The Korean Medical Association, which impeached former chairman Lim Hyun-taek, will elect a chairman of the emergency committee tomorrow to fill the leadership vacuum.

Expectations are high for the progress of the situation as the internal strife in the medical community is settled, but the representative of the major devalued the ruling and opposition parties' government council, which took the first step.

Reporter Kwon Min-seok's report.

The Korean Medical Association, which impeached former chairman Lim Hyun-taek, has begun to form an emergency committee.

After two days of candidate registration, a new emergency committee chairman will be elected through an online vote of delegates on the evening of the 13th.It is a rapid battle to fill the leadership vacuum three days after the impeachment of former chairman

to quickly resolve the internal strife in the parliament.

Former Chairman Joo Su-ho, Seoul Metropolitan Medical Association President Hwang Kyu-seok, National Council of Metropolitan Provincial Medical Association President Kim Taek-woo, and former spokesman of the Medical Association Kim Sung-geun are mentioned as candidates.

Regardless of who it is, the biggest task is to persuade medical doctors and medical students who have distanced themselves from the medical association to make a breakthrough in the legislative conflict.

[Kim Kyo-woong / Chairperson of the Korean Medical Association (last 10th): Once the emergency committee is formed, it will probably be closely related to the medical council, and many medical doctors will participate in the emergency committee. That's why we exchange opinions and decide whether or not to enter the ruling and opposition parties' political consultative body..]

However, the outlook is not as bright as internal and external expectations.

The first meeting of the "Yeouuijeong" council without the opposition party was held, but the major's group did not budge.

Park Dan, the representative of the major, directly hit the ruling party's representative, saying that the consultative body was meaningless and that he would talk to the major doctor without medical students.

He also emphasized that the confusion can be resolved only when the recruitment of medical schools for next year is stopped or all the demands of the major are met.

He didn't step back from nine months ago when he left the hospital in protest of the increase in medical school.

In the midst of this, medical students who have taken a group leave of absence will hold a general meeting of student representatives on the 15th to discuss future fighting directions.
