Saudi Arabia's chief executive, Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman, has condemned Israel for "massacre" in Gaza and Lebanon.

Crown Prince Muhammad made the remarks at a joint summit of the Arab League and Islamic Cooperation Organization in Riyadh, the Saudi capital, on the 11th local time.

"Israel must immediately stop acting against the Palestinians and our brothers in Lebanon," Crown Prince Muhammad said, expressing support for the Palestinians and Lebanon.

Prince Muhammad met with U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blinken and others several times during the more than year-long Gaza war and recently publicly criticized Israel for airstrikes on the Iranian mainland.

The leaders of the first member states to gather in a year adopted a closing statement calling for a suspension of U.N. membership along with an arms embargo on Israel and called for an immediate cease-fire on Israel.

Given that the summit was held after former President Donald Trump's election, it is interpreted as a message from the Middle East to Trump.
