Vice Minister of Employment and Labor Kim Min-seok said at a briefing on the Yoon Suk Yeol government's employment and labor policy performance and future plans, he will push for related investigations, analysis and social discussions to come up with phased measures to apply the Labor Standards Act.
Minister Kim Moon-soo also said, "We will definitely apply the Labor Standards Act to workplaces with fewer than five employees, but under the current situation, we will do it step by step," and explained that small and medium-sized companies are making efforts to check whether they can afford to pay.
He added that if the issue is discussed at the social dialogue table of the Economic, Social and Labor Commission, we plan to actively participate to find reasonable alternatives and persuade labor and management.
Regarding continuous employment measures such as extending the retirement age, it has announced that it will quickly come up with a reasonable continuous employment plan in connection with the reorganization of the job- and performance-oriented wage system so that young and old people can coexist and the burden on companies is eased.
