Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Lee Ju-ho reiterated that he thinks medical students who took a leave of absence will return if they listen to what they want.

Deputy Prime Minister Lee said at a press conference held yesterday (11th) when asked about the measures against medical students who have been approved to take a leave of absence from school if they do not return to work in March next year.

He then said that the medical school president and the Ministry of Education will join forces to persuade students to resolve misunderstandings and listen to what they want, adding that he thinks it means a lot that the ruling-opposition council has begun.

However, he declined to comment when asked about the outcome of the first meeting of the ruling and opposition parties.

An official from the Ministry of Education who attended the meeting indicated that the government has decided to invest 5 trillion won by 2030 to improve medical education conditions, but the budget may change depending on the size of the increase in medical schools.
