Kim Tae-hyo, the first deputy chief of the National Security Office, said in a briefing today that President Yoon will visit Lima, Peru, and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
During the APEC and G20 meetings, a summit is being held with President Yoon and Prime Minister Ishiba of Japan, and a summit is being coordinated with more countries, Kim explained.
An official from the president's office said, "There is a very high possibility that the Korea-Japan summit will take place because we are actively coordinating it, and we are also discussing the Korea-China-Japan summit with related countries."
The official explained that the Korea-China summit is also very likely to take place, and if the summit between U.S. President Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba takes place at the multilateral meeting, a separate three-way meeting in the U.S. will not be needed.
On the possibility of a meeting with U.S. President-elect Trump on the occasion of this trip, he said, adding that he would keep in close communication with the president-elect, adding that he would let him know if there were any new changes as there are several variables.
