Discussions were held around arboretums across the country to discuss ways to revive the local economy.

The "2024 Korea Arboretum Garden Management Institute Regional Win-Win Project National Assembly Symposium" was held today (12th) at the National Assembly Library, co-hosted by 15 lawmakers from the Agriculture, Food, Marine and Fisheries Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Agricultural, Forestry and Fisheries Committee) and co-hosted by the Korea Forest Service and the Korea Arboretum Garden Management Institute.

The symposium, which was held under the theme of "The future of the region blooming again with the arboretum," was attended by lawmakers Kim Sun-kyo, Seo Cheon-ho, Lee Man-hee, Lee Byung-jin, Jung Hee-yong and Cho Kyung-tae, Rep. Lim Jong-deuk of Bonghwa District in North Gyeongsang Province, and Lee Mi-ra, deputy director of the Korea Forest Service, to discuss ways to save the region.

Following Kang Shin-gu, head of the Korea Arboretum's Garden Management Agency's headquarters, "The ripple effect and expansion plan of local win-win projects by the Korea Arboretum's Garden Management Institute," Lim Hyung-baek, president of the Korea Regional Development Association, presented "the current status and countermeasures for local extinction in Korea."

Under the theme of "The Role of the Korea Arboretum Garden Management Institute as a Community Platform," a comprehensive discussion was held with a panel of experts representing each field.

Shim Sang-taek, chairman of the Korea Arboretum Garden Management Institute, said, "As the institution expands in the future, we will expand the project nationwide and develop it into a specialized project that reflects regional characteristics by utilizing the expertise and infrastructure possessed by the Korea Arboretum Garden Management Institute."
