The Seoul High Court held a trial preparation date today (12th) and announced that it has resumed its arguments for a faithful hearing because there are areas where the hearing has been less conducted.
The plan is to postpone the sentence of the second trial, which was scheduled for the 21st, and to proceed with further interrogation of witnesses.
As a result, a witness examination will be held on the 3rd of next month against former Ulsan Mayor Song Chul-ho's rival in the party, former Democratic Party supreme council member Lim Dong-ho.
The interference in the Ulsan mayoral election is an allegation that Cheong Wa Dae systematically intervened to help former Mayor Song, known as an old friend of former President Moon Jae In, win the election ahead of the 2018 local elections.
Earlier, the first trial sentenced former Mayor Song and Representative Hwang to three years in prison, believing that a "subject investigation" was conducted at Cheong Wa Dae.
In September, the prosecution demanded six years in prison and five years in prison for former Mayor Song and Representative Hwang, respectively, at the final hearing of the appeals court.
