Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon urged President Yoon Suk Yeol to accept Kim Gun-hee's special prosecution and insisted that he should step down on his own if he refuses to do so.

Governor Kim pointed out in a statement on political issues that public trust has already collapsed and nothing of the president's words has given trust to the people at a time when the president's leadership is greatly shaken by incompetence and family issues around him.

At the same time, he said that the president is the cause of the current crisis in the Republic of Korea, and now the president has only two things left: the way to accept the special prosecutor to make a major change in state affairs or to step down on his own.

Governor Kim said, "If we continue as it is, the president, the people, and the Republic of Korea are unhappy," adding that the president should make a decision right now.
