U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has named Fox News host Pete Hegseth as secretary of defense for the second term of the administration.
"Pete is tough, smart and a true believer in America First," Trump said in a statement.
"When Pete takes the helm, America's enemies will know that our military will be great again and that America will never back down," he said.
Hegseth is a former major in the army who fought in wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and hosted programs on Fox News.
