Teenage A, who was handed over to trial for hitting Bae Hyun-jin, a lawmaker of the People's Power, several times with a blunt weapon, admitted all the crimes in his first trial.

At the first hearing of the special injury charges held at the Seoul Central District Court, Mr. A's lawyer admitted all the facts and said he deeply reflected on them.

However, he claimed that it appeared to be a judgment of mental and physical loss, such as impairment of A's decision-making ability.

He then explained that he is receiving medication under the active support of his parents.

However, Rep. Bae said he had no intention of reaching an agreement and wanted to receive a price equivalent to what he did.

Earlier, A asked for a closed trial due to psychological pressure, but the court refused to accept it, saying that if it is difficult to make a statement, the lawyer can give his or her opinion in advance or submit it in writing.

Mr. A is accused of hitting Mr. Bae more than 10 times with a blunt instrument at a building in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, in January, causing three weeks of injuries to the patient.
