Hwang Chul-soon, a "Jingman" health trainer who was handed over to trial for hitting a female acquaintance, was commuted at the appeal trial, but he could not avoid a prison sentence.

The Seoul Central District Court today (13th) sentenced Hwang to nine months in prison, reduced from one year in the first trial, in an appeal trial on charges of assault injury and property damage.

The court explained that Hwang denied the crime in the first trial and blamed the victim regardless of the prosecution, but admitted the crime in the appeal trial and showed remorse several times.

He also added that he destroyed the original sentence because he thought the victim was currently willing to receive the deposit of 20 million won.

However, it was judged that it was difficult to sentence probation without complete agreement with the victim.

Deposit means that the defendant, who fails to agree with the victim, entrusts the money to the court on behalf of the victim in order to recover from the damage. In October last year,

Hwang was put on trial on charges of swearing and assaulting several times while arguing with an acquaintance woman A in a building in Yeosu, Jeollanam-do.
