Residents of Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province, who suffered from flood damage at the time of Typhoon Hinnamno last year, filed a lawsuit against Pohang City and others, claiming that they suffered damage by changing the river channel due to apartment construction work, but lost.

The Seoul Central District Court ruled today (13th) that residents of Ocheon-eup, Pohang, lost the plaintiff in a lawsuit against Pohang City and apartment construction companies.

Residents who were affected by the typhoon Hinnamno in September last year filed a lawsuit claiming that the damage was caused by changing the water path of Yongsancheon Stream, a small river, during the construction of a new apartment building.

They claimed that Pohang City did not take preventive measures against the risk of flooding even though it artificially changed the small river to secure the apartment site.
