Current police officer caught drunk driving in Paju... Dismissal of duty

Paju Police Station in Gyeonggi Province booked an incumbent police officer A on charges of causing an accident while driving drunk.

Mr. A is suspected of driving into the underground parking lot of a shopping mall in Opposition-dong, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do at around 3 a.m. yesterday (12th) while being drunk and reversing in front of the circuit breaker and hitting another vehicle behind him.

Mr. A was identified as a police officer belonging to the district unit of Mapo Police Station in Seoul.

The police plan to remove Mr. A from his position and discuss disciplinary procedures as soon as the investigation is completed.
