Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who has emerged as a close ally of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, has been named the head of the "Government Efficiency Department" as expected.
Trump said he would lead the department along with Vivek Ramas, an Indian-based businessman who was a candidate for the primary, stressing that it was at the heart of the "Save America" movement.

The top contributor to Trump's election, which poured enormous money and efforts, is now considered to be the strongest behind-the-scenes power.
U.S. media reports that he has been spending time with Trump almost every day since Election Day on the 5th, influencing the appointment of the Cabinet.
In fact, Musk is even meddling in the race for U.S. Senate leadership by voting online through his social media accounts.
During his campaign, Trump has already promised to leave Musk with the "Government Efficiency Department" to handle government reforms.

Vivek Ramas and Midi Musk, an Indian-born entrepreneur and Republican presidential candidate, will lead the government's efficiency department.
Ramaswamy is also considered a close ally who has been enthusiastically supporting Trump since he resigned as a candidate for the primary.
[Vivek Rawaswamy / Entrepreneur: If you want to revive national pride in this country, vote for Trump. If you want to avoid WW3, vote for Trump. If you want to make America great again, vote for Trump.]
Trump expected two good Americans to pave the way for large-scale structural reforms at the heart of the "Save America" movement.
Musk, who has emerged as the most powerful man, is also expected to exert influence in the diplomatic sector, apart from the role of the head of the government's efficiency department.
It has already been reported that Trump was present when he spoke with the Serbian president, following a phone call with Ukrainian President Zelensky.
However, some point out that Musk, a businessman, could be problematic for him to engage in talks between leaders, where sensitive issues in various areas, including national security, are discussed.
