The first thing that comes to mind when you think of a gift for the college entrance exam is glutinous rice cake or taffy.
It turns out that test takers prefer practical things,
The
distribution industry has also launched unique marketing in line with the changing trend.
Reporter Hwang Bo Hye-kyung reports.

The box is full of white sticky rice cakes and chewy nutritional rice cakes.
It is a representative college entrance exam gift that can be easily seen anywhere at this time of year.
[Jang Jinyoung / Songnae-dong, Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi-do: I hope my son who is taking the college entrance exam eats this sticky rice cake and gets into the college he wants]
But the customers you're looking for aren't as good as they used to be.
[Kim Hee-jung / Rice cake shop in Nakwon-dong, Seoul: We prepare about 10,000 sticky rice cakes, but sales of sticky rice cakes have fallen by about 30% compared to last year.]
When a trend analysis service company surveyed 200 high school students nationwide three years ago, 34.5% of the respondents cited sticky rice cakes and taffy as "the most unwanted SAT gifts."
On the other hand, cash topped the list of "gifts you want to receive most," and this trend continues.
[Kwon Hae-won/College student: (Do you have a gift that you didn't have to do this?) Taffy gift. (Why?) I think you gave it to me to stick to it, but I didn't eat any of the taffy I received.]
[Lim Seungwon / College student: I think practical cash or writing equipment will be more helpful as a gift than an impractical gift]
Thank you for your heart, but many college entrance exam gifts even when it's difficult to deal with.
Distribution prices have also started marketing exotic gifts, breaking away from the existing formula.
One convenience store prepared a gift set in collaboration with famous universities such as Seoul National University and Yonsei University.
Health foods such as red ginseng and vitamins, which have a relatively long storage period, are also popular.
The distribution industry is also busy targeting students who have finished their exams.
From a hotel that gives one companion a free meal ticket if the examinee uses a buffet,
There is also an amusement park event that offers up to 70% discount for examinees until the end of the year
.
The SAT gift landscape is also changing with a focus on practicality, but
The desire for the long-standing test takers to get the desired results remains the same.
