An electric car parked in Yongin's country house caught fire..."Estimated ignition during charging"

An electric car that was parked in the parking lot of a rural house in Gongse-dong, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, caught fire at around 7:40 a.m. today (14th).

No one was injured in the fire, but both cars were in the Ioniq 6 electric car and the van that was parked next to it.

Fire authorities, which extinguished the large blaze in 30 minutes, estimate that the fire broke out while charging an electric vehicle.

The police plan to ask the National Forensic Service to identify the exact cause of the fire.
