Choi Sang-mok "AI designates national strategic technology and establishes a plan to foster K defense MRO"

The government designates artificial intelligence and AI as national strategic technologies.

It also fosters the maintenance, repair, and maintenance of major manufacturing industries such as defense, shipbuilding, and nuclear power plants, that is, the MRO market.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance Choi Sang-mok told a meeting of economy-related ministers at the Seoul Government Complex today that the government should strengthen the fundamental competitiveness of our industry and that it will respond to the global competition for technological hegemony by designating AI as a national strategic technology under the Restriction of Special Taxation Act.

Deputy Prime Minister Choi also said that he will improve the constitution of the service industry and foster it as a new export main industry.

In order to grow the MRO market, it plans to establish a plan to foster the K defense MRO next year and provide 66 trillion won in export financing to the service sector for five years from next year.

In addition, Deputy Prime Minister Choi said he will rationalize regulations to facilitate the construction of tourist hotels near universities for the convenience of patients using university hospitals, and review non-payment items for nursing facilities in consideration of user demand.

The government said it will increase the value-added share of the service industry in our industry from 63% as of last year to 70% in 2035.
