Sudme refers to studio shooting, dress rental, and makeup, and is being pointed out as a "blind price" because the extra cost is too high.
The Ministry of Strategy and Finance held a meeting of economy-related ministers presided over by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance Choi Sang-mok at the Seoul Government Complex today and announced a plan to support marriage services.
The government said it will work with major wedding halls and preparation agencies to autonomously disclose the prices of major items starting next year, and will institutionalize them by enacting a wedding service law in the future.
The bill will also include a provision that imposes business reporting obligations on wedding halls and wedding preparation agency businesses and opens spaces owned by local governments and public institutions to public wedding spaces.
The government also said it will enact standard terms and conditions for marriage preparation agency services by March next year so that detailed prices, refunds and penalties can be explained in detail when signing contracts.
The government said it will disclose related companies and prices on the Korea Consumer Agency price information site and continue to check them through an in-depth investigation.
According to a recent survey of marriage services, the average payment for marriage services was 24.68 million won.
The average basic fund was 16.44 million won with an additional 1.46 million won, and Sudme was found to be 3.46 million won with an average basic fund of 1.74 million won.
