National real estate volume hits lowest this year in September

The nation's real estate transaction volume hit its lowest level this year in September due to tightening government lending regulations.

According to an analysis by real estate company Real Estate Planet, the nationwide real estate transaction volume stood at 72,217 in September, down 21.9% from August, and the lowest this year.

Among the types of real estate, the biggest contraction in transactions was apartments, with nationwide trading down 31.1% from the previous month to 29,545 cases in September and transaction down 41.6% to 12.84 trillion won.

In particular, apartment transactions in Seoul fell 53.2% from the previous month, the largest decline among cities and provinces nationwide.
