The agency said it expects cold continental high pressure to expand strongly from Sunday after rain-sprayed troughs have escaped throughout the country today and tomorrow, causing temperatures to plummet early next week.
Sunday morning's temperature will be around 10 degrees, but most inland areas will be below freezing next Monday morning, with temperatures dropping about 10 degrees in one day.
In particular, Yeongdong, Gangwon Province, is likely to see snow with rain between Sunday night and Monday morning.
The cold is expected to gradually ease as normal temperatures recover in the middle of next week after about three days.
