The Supreme Court today (14th) confirmed the lower court's decision to require Korean Air to compensate A 18 million won in damages filed by A against Korean Air.
A was sexually assaulted at his boss B's house in 2017 while working for Korean Air.
Two years later, A asked Korean Air for an investigation and disciplinary action, and after receiving a letter of resignation from B, he resigned without handing it over to the disciplinary process.
In response, A filed a lawsuit against Korean Air worth 100 million won, and the first trial acknowledged the employer's responsibility and ordered him to pay 1.5 million won, but decided that there was no violation of the resignation without disciplinary action.
However, the second trial acknowledged Korean Air's responsibility and ordered it to compensate 18 million won, saying that the management could not be considered to have taken all necessary measures.
