'G-Star 2024' to celebrate its 20th anniversary as the largest ever

The nation's largest game show "G-Star 2024" opened today (14th) in BEXCO, Busan. G-Star 2024, which turned 20 this year, will be hosted by the Korea Game Industry Association and co-hosted by the G-Star Organizing Committee and the Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency and will be held for four days from today to the 17th.

This year's "G-Star 2024" showed the largest growth in the scale of participation compared to last year, with 44 countries, 1,375 companies and 3,359 booths participating, making it the largest ever.

Following last year, the entire hall of BEXCO Exhibition Hall 1 and the entire first floor of Exhibition Hall 2 will be used. In addition to Nexon, the main sponsor, Google, Netmarble, Lionheart Studio, Webzen, Invent, SOOP, Krafton, and Pearl Abyss participated in the first exhibition hall, while Kiddya and HIVIM set up an exhibition booth on the first floor of the second exhibition hall. Each booth has new releases, demonstrations, hands-on contents, and various events.

The global game conference "G-CON 2024" will also be held on the first floor of the BEXCO Convention Hall for two days from the 14th to the 15th. G-CON 2024 will be joined by experts in various areas closely related to the game industry, focusing on the topic of AAA title and console game development, which has recently become the most popular topic in Korea. The keynote session on the first day will be held by "Producer Yoshinori Kitase," who has been very successful with "First Busker: Kazan" and "Final Fantasy," and "Director Naoki Hamaguchi," who leads the overall development of "Final Fantasy VII Rebirth." In the keynote session on the 2nd day, illustrator "Yoneyama Mai" and "Shibusawa Kou" of "Koei Techmo Games," who represent the entire game industry, will take the podium, respectively.

In order to expand the exhibition area of indie games, "Steam" will join the indie showcase on the first floor of the second exhibition hall. A total of 60 developers will participate in this indie showcase, and "Steam" will also support steam deck experience spaces with various concepts along with "Komodo."

In addition, the 'G-Star Cup 2024 Overwatch Tournament' will be held at the 'Busan E-Sports Stadium' located in Seomyeon, Busan. In this tournament, four teams consisting of current and former professional gamers and influencer will host the best-of-five tournament.
