The People's Power held a general meeting of lawmakers today (14th) and decided not to participate in the vote on the "Kim Gun-hee Special Prosecutor Act," which will be presented to the plenary session of the National Assembly.

Floor leader Choo Kyung-ho reiterated his opposition at the general meeting, saying that the amendment proposed by the Democratic Party of Korea is a trick that plans the ruling party's division and reveals the intention of impeaching the president.

The amendment reduces the scope of the special prosecutor's investigation to allegations of Kim's involvement in Deutsche Motors stock price manipulation and suspicions related to Myung Tae-kyun, and gives the chief justice of the Supreme Court the first right to recommend special prosecutor candidates.
