False hiring of employees for payment of goods...Three Gyeonggi Social Welfare Corporations Caught

Gyeonggi Province's special judicial police found three social welfare facilities that stole subsidies by receiving money back from suppliers or falsely registering employees, and booked six people, including the president of the association, and one corporation on charges of violating the Social Welfare Service Act.According to the

special judicial police, the head of the Pyeongtaek A Social Welfare Facilities Association collected 500 million won from 2007 to 2024 through the 'Payback' method, in which he conspired with suppliers to deliver less than the price of goods and get the remaining payments back.

The Association of Social Welfare Facilities A used 3.6 million won in fuel subsidies for the association's vehicles to refuel employees' vehicles.

It has been confirmed that the head of the Uijeongbu B Regional Children's Center falsely registered an acquaintance as an employee and managed the acquaintance's salary account directly and collected a labor cost subsidy of 120 million won from January 2017 to March this year.

In the case of Dongducheon C disabled residential facility, it was found that it operated the facility for two disabled people from 2018 to last year without reporting it to the competent authorities.

Under the Social Welfare Services Act, if subsidies are used for purposes other than the purpose, they will be sentenced to up to five years in prison or fined up to 50 million won, and if unreported facilities are installed and operated, they will be sentenced to up to one year in prison or fined up to 10 million won, respectively.
