The exhibition, with the Korea Craft Promotion Agency, a platform for craftsmen, will feature intangible heritage graduates, craftspeople and folk artists to capture the spirit of "Seonbi" in a variety of works.
Sunbi refers to a person who cultivates his or her studies. It refers to a person who has cultivated his or her character by exploring his or her inner self, rather than simply cultivating his or her studies and fulfilling his or her social responsibilities.
Based on this noble spirit of the scholar, creative studio Nolja protects the traditional meaning and offers a new perspective on "Sunbi" to those who visit the exhibition by holding an exhibition reinterpreted from a modern perspective.
Director Lim Kyung-hwa (Let's play at the creative studio) emphasized, "Protecting and reinterpreting traditions is still a necessary and important value in our daily lives," adding, "The process of transferring intangible heritage into works can play a significant role in modern society."
The exhibition "Looking at Sunbi" at the Beautiful Tea Museum Gallery will be free to view until the 30th. More information on the exhibition can be found on the Creative Studio Play website.
