The first trial of Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, will be sentenced tomorrow (15th).

The Seoul Central District Court will hold the first trial of Lee Jae-myung, who was indicted on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act, from 2:30 p.m. tomorrow.

Representative Lee was put on trial on charges of disclosing false information in a broadcast interview when he was a presidential candidate that he was not aware of the late Kim Moon-ki, the first director of Seongnam Urban Development Corporation's development.

In the same year, he is also accused of making false statements to the effect that he changed the use of the Baekhyun-dong site under pressure from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport during a parliamentary audit in Gyeonggi-do.

In the final trial, the prosecution demanded a two-year prison term, saying that representative Lee distorted voters' choices by repeatedly lying to the people.

On the other hand, in his final statement, Lee appealed for the judiciary, the last bastion, to make a wise judgment, saying that the prosecution is on the verge of damaging democracy by abusing its authority to investigate and prosecute.
