Police have launched an investigation after a man and woman in their 50s were found dead in Yeongdong, North Chungcheong Province.

At around 5:20 p.m. today (14th), a man and woman in their 50s were found dead in a farm road in Chupungryeong-myeon, Yeongdong-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do.

There were signs of stabbing in the woman's abdomen, and a weapon believed to have been used in the crime was also found at the scene.

It has been confirmed that the deceased woman's son visited the house because he could not contact his mother and found the bodies of two people nearby and reported them.

The police explained that the two were found to have been in a relationship in the past, and that they plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the incident based on the results of the identification.
