Strict security was put on in downtown Paris ahead of the French and Israeli national teams' soccer matches, with Israeli fans collectively assaulted after a football match in the Netherlands last week.

French authorities say they have deployed 5,500 police officers around stadiums and public transport facilities where Nations League games are held.

In addition, in order to block the risk of entering the stadium, the top of the stands will be closed, and the size of entry at the bottom will be limited.

As a result, only 20,000 people, or 1/4 of the capacity, are expected to visit the stadium.

Earlier, the Israeli government recommended refraining from watching in person, but about 150 Israeli soccer fans are expected to watch the game in person.

The French police decided to guard them throughout the game.

French President Emmanuel Macron will also watch the match as a means of condemning the attack in the Netherlands.

Israeli soccer fans were attacked in Amsterdam on the 7th after the Europa League soccer match between Ajax in the Netherlands and Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel.

This resulted in five injuries and 60 arrests.
