Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yeol held talks with U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blinken in Lima, Peru, on the occasion of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation and APEC Ministerial Meeting on the 14th local time to exchange views on the Korea-U.S. alliance, cooperation between South Korea, the U.S. and North Korea, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The two sides expressed concern at the talks, saying that illegal military cooperation between North Korea and Russia is a serious threat to the security of Europe and the Indo-Pacific region.

In return for the dispatch of North Korean troops, they decided to closely watch the possibility of Russia's military aid to North Korea and respond closely.

Blinken also said that bipartisan support in the U.S. for the Korea-U.S. alliance is strong, explaining that the results of cooperation so far will be well transferred to the next administration.

Minister Cho introduced that he is making every effort to successfully host the United Nations Convention on Plastic, which will be held in Busan, and asked South Korea and the U.S. to lead related discussions together, and Secretary Blinken also expressed sympathy.
