Baedari Ecological Park in Jukbaek-dong is home to endangered species such as golden frogs, short-necked ducks, and long-necked butterflies, and birds such as white-billed ducks, big-billed geese, and spoonbills can also be observed.
It was named Baedari Ecological Park because of its excellent ecological value from the beginning of its construction, but it is legally a neighborhood park and has been managed the same as other neighborhood parks so far.
However, the recent acceleration of urbanization has worsened the water quality of reservoirs in the park and threatened biological sites, raising the need for countermeasures.
In response, Pyeongtaek City prepared special measures to preserve the natural ecosystem of Baedari Ecological Park and held a declaration ceremony to inform the park management plan.
More than 100 people attended the declaration ceremony, including Pyeongtaek Mayor Chung Jang-sun, City Council Chairman Kang Jeong-gu, provincial and city councilors, and residents.According to the
city plan, the water quality of the reservoir will be improved by restoring the water circulation system and installing total phosphorus treatment facilities and non-point pollution reduction facilities.
In addition, we plan to expand the habitat of endangered species and improve the health of ecological forests by managing ecosystem disturbances.
