According to a report by The Hill, a U.S. political media outlet, on the 14th local time, King said in a post on X that he had decided to leave because of X's toxic environment.
King tried to stay, but he said he was leaving X because of the too toxic atmosphere, and asked him to "follow me in the thread if you want."
King's announcement comes a day after X said his account was unblocked.
King said rumors were circulating that he had called Musk "Trump's new first lady" but that it was not true and that Elon Musk had kicked him out of X were also not true.
King has long been a critic of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump and is one of many celebrities to express disappointment and shock at Trump's presidential victory.
King once said Trump's first administration was "scary" than his best-selling novel.
In addition, he is critical of Musk, an ardent supporter of Trump.
King has also gone head-to-head with Musk, who tried to charge X users $20 for authentication.
Meanwhile, the number of new subscribers to "Blue Sky," which represents an alternative platform for X, has increased by about 1 million in the week since the U.S. presidential election, the Associated Press said.
Also targeting X, the number of monthly active users of Threads launched by Mark Zuckerberg's Meta Platforms also jumped 175% from a year ago to 275 million as of the third quarter.
