A press conference was held to call for the resignation of Cho Kyu-yeon, chairman of the May 18 injured party, and the police investigation, which has led to controversy over illegal debt collection and past history.

At a press conference in front of the Gwangju Police Agency, the Senior Committee for the Normalization of the May 18 Injured Association and others threatened even their families and urged the immediate arrest and investigation of Chairman Cho, who is suspected of illegal collection.

He also demanded that Chairman Cho immediately apologize and step down from his position, saying that he deceived members by writing false academic background.

These groups said that the May 18 Association of the injured should hold an extraordinary general meeting as soon as possible to correct mistakes and rebuild the organization.

Cho Kyu-yeon, the chairman of the May 18 injured public law organization, has been campaigning for no confidence in some members of the organization due to controversy over her false academic background and past criminal history.
