According to the Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corporation and HUG, the average sale price per square meter of private apartments nationwide was 5.759 million won, up 1.18 percent from the previous record high in September and up 13.05% from October last year.
Seoul also broke a record high, with the average sale price per square meter in Seoul reaching 14.203 million won last month, up 6.13% from September and soaring 45.76% from a year ago. When converted into
3.3㎡, the national sale price is KRW 19.38 million and the Seoul sale price is KRW 46.952 million.
Incheon and Gyeonggi-do also hit all-time highs, and the sale price of the metropolitan area was 8.808 million won per square meter, the highest ever.
In response, HUG said, "The increase in the sale price in Seoul is due to statistical characteristics," and explained that the average sale price of private apartments is calculated by averaging the data for the past 12 months, but there was no new sale in Seoul last month and the average price rose sharply due to the lack of data in September last year.
In addition, it added that the increase in the sale price in Gyeonggi Province, which supplied about 10,000 households last month, resulted in a hike in the sale price not only in the metropolitan area but also across the country.
