China's ambassador to the U.S., Xie Feng, said in a speech in Hong Kong yesterday that dialogue between the two countries should be strengthened, Reuters reported.
Hsieh said it was entirely possible for the two countries to put the problem on the table and communicate frankly and find a solution on equal footing.
It also called for clear opposition to Taiwan's so-called "separatists," saying Taiwan is the biggest flashpoint for conflict between the United States and China.
China adheres to the "One China" principle, which sees Taiwan as part of China.
