A father who had been verbally abusing his elementary school children and acting violently was sentenced to prison.

The Cheongju District Court sentenced A, who was accused of violating the Child Welfare Act, to one year in prison and ordered 40 hours of completion of child abuse treatment programs and three years of restrictions on employment at child-related institutions.

In October last year, A was reported on domestic violence charges after his 12-year-old elementary school daughter yelled at him for not greeting her acquaintance, asking him to bow.

The report was made by A's wife, and A is also accused of emotionally abusing her daughter by verbally abusing her daughter, saying, "My wife is trying to make her a psychopath."

Mr. A was ordered to ban access after assaulting his wife in the past, and he caused a commotion on an international flight last year without following crew control.

The court said the victim appears to have felt a lot of fear, and it is difficult to say that A reflects on his wrongdoings, such as having a criminal record of multiple violence and not attending without any notice on the sentencing date.
