The six-story building behind me is a building on fire.
Currently, the fire is completely extinguished, and you can see the police being dispatched to control the scene.
The fire broke out at 3:38 a.m. today (17th).
The fire started at the restaurant on the first floor of the six-story commercial building, and smoke flowed to the motel on the fifth and sixth floors of the mall.
Fire authorities decided that there were likely to be many guests in the motel because it was the weekend, so they issued a "Response Phase 2" at 3:57 p.m., 19 minutes after the report.
Currently, the big fire was caught at 4:47, an hour and 10 minutes after the report under the on-site command of the Ansan Fire Station chief, and the fire has been completely turned off at 5:52.
The fire department said it rescued a total of 52 people, including 20 women and 33 men, inside a motel and other shopping centers, and 32 of them were taken to hospitals.
Currently, there are two serious injuries identified by the fire department, but the consciousness is clear and there are no deaths.
When the fire broke out, two people jumped on the air mat, and it was found that they were not seriously injured.
The fire department plans to investigate the exact cause of the fire based on a report that there was a "popping" sound at the time of the initial report.
It added that we need to further check whether the sprinklers worked at the site.
Meanwhile, Minister of Public Administration and Security Lee Sang-min issued an emergency order at around 5 a.m., and instructed firefighters, police, and local governments to do their best to save lives by mobilizing all available personnel and equipment.
Minister Lee plans to send a field situation manager to support "correcting the situation of local governments."
So far, I'm Hong Min-ki of YTN at the fire site in Danwon-gu, Ansan.
