President Yoon Suk Yeol, who is visiting Lima, Peru, to attend the APEC summit, held his second Korea-Japan summit with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba.After his first meeting with Prime Minister Ishiba last month, President Yun said, "The situation in the region and the world is urgent, with military cooperation between Russia and North Korea leading to the dispatch of North Korean troops," adding, "Close cooperation between Korea and Japan is more important than ever."

Prime Minister Ishiba also said it is an important task to strengthen cooperation between Korea and Japan, considering the recent severe environment surrounding us, including North Korea.

The president's office said during the 50-minute meeting, the two leaders expressed strong concern about military cooperation between Russia and North Korea and that South Korea and Japan should work together more closely to ensure that the international community can continue to send a united message to North Korea.

At the same time, under the new administration of the United States, we have decided to cooperate to continue to develop the cooperation system between Korea, the United States and Japan.

This is the second meeting with Prime Minister Ishiba since the Korea-Japan summit on the occasion of the ASEAN summit and the 14th Korea-Japan summit since President Yoon took office.
