Authorities have launched an investigation after two flare-ups fell around the home of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was attacked by a drone a month ago, AFP reported.

Israeli police said in a statement that "two island bombs landed in the courtyard outside the prime minister's home" and that "the prime minister and his family were not at home at the time."

It added that the investigation was launched, saying it was a very serious incident and a dangerous escalation of tensions.

Netanyahu's home is in the northern coastal city of Caesar, about 70 kilometers from Lebanon's border, and was partially damaged by a drone strike on October 19.

At the time, Netanyahu warned in a statement that he would pay a heavy price after pointing to Iran as the mastermind.
