It was analyzed that the number of test takers who passed the regular medical school screening at least once last year before the increase in medical school was 2.45 times the number of applicants.

According to the data from Jongno Academy, 2,884 test takers passed 39 medical schools nationwide through regular admissions in 2024, 2.45 times more than 1,173 first-time applicants.

Candidates can apply for up to three applications on time, and if they pass several medical schools, they can choose other places, and after that, universities will recruit more people to fill the vacancies, and 1,711 people were recruited by medical schools nationwide last year.

According to the results of regular applications last year, the competition rate of 39 medical schools averaged 6.62 to 1, but if additional successful applicants are considered to be recruited, the real competition rate is 2.69 to 1.

In addition, a total of 33 people were recruited in last year's entrance examination because medical schools nationwide could not select them from early admission.

The entrance examination industry predicts that universities with low real competition rates may be forced to recruit additional students after the regular admissions process, as the size of carry-over from time to time increases and the number of regular admissions increases.
