The Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation, HUG, said that by October this year, the amount of jeonse deposit return guarantees was KRW 4.291 trillion and the number of accidents was over KRW 18,600.
The "subrogation payment amount," a deposit returned by HUG to tenants instead of landlords, is more than 3.3 trillion won until October this year.
As a result, HUG has decided to push for the issuance of new capital securities worth at least 500 billion won, which had been suspended due to disagreements between ministries.
Earlier at the end of last month, the Financial Services Commission put a brake on HUG's bond issuance, saying it needed further consultation with related ministries, but decided to proceed as scheduled after consultation with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
